When Get In The Mix approached us looking for a new logo as part of their upcoming rebrand, to say we were excited would be an understatement. Music is a big deal here at Umlaut, so the opportunity to work on branding for this online retailer of dj equipment was pretty special.
Our brief was to create something impactful, that would not only work perfectly as part of an overall visual identity, but also on a range of merchandise Get in the Mix were hoping to sell. We decided to focus on the way in which sound is represented on dj equipment, by creating a layered logo to mimic the bars on a mixer. We spent time test driving numerous typefaces, and eventually created a custom variant to provide the perfect aesthetic for Get in the Mix.
